Christmas

Sat Dec 19, 2009, 7:40 AM
„So this is Christmas, and what have you done?”, every year it’s always the same: in newspapers is reported about lost of values. We are accused of buying too much, of thinking only about profits, of gaining, etc.. Even the Santa Claus we believe in was dressed by Coca-Cola. The society is getting worse every year and we can only fear the future Christmas. Anyway, the past time was definitely better. As a student working on National Socialism in Germany I really wonder, WHEN were these “better times”. In time of Holocaust? In 1933? or in 1918? When Christmas were better than today? When the so-called “Christmas Values” were really valued?
I like Christmas and I will celebrate it, even if I don’t consider myself as a catholic or maybe even a Christian. I have my doubts, but it has nothing to do with Christmas, really. It is not about somebody being borned. People just need holiday and for centuries they had have them somewhere about this time of year. This is part of our culture, of my culture and it will last, although of course it will be modified a bit.
Besides, I like buying presents and then giving them. This is my favourite part of the evening (Christmas Eve in my country is when we receive presents)as my family unpack the presents I bought them. If there are people who hates giving, it’s fine. But they shouldn’t be treated as authorities telling me I am commercialized.
Sorry for bad language.
And Merry Christmas!
To everyone
:)

The Hope, The Literature and etc

Sun Nov 15, 2009, 10:57 PM
The world has never been a nice place to live. At least for a such maniac psycho-melancholic person as me. But there are things worth going on. I realised it reading Discworld stories. The funniest thing is, that the only worth thing in this whole awful life, lies inside my head. If I won't find any strength more, I even won't be able to commit suicide. The life is only a game, why not to take part? Of course, some people just have better. This is not fair play, but nobody wants to play fair. It is not about having better at the start or at the end. It is about going through it all with a sarcastic smile and a cup of tea, and of course damn good fun.
The philosophy presented in Pratchett's books is worth at least trying. His literature gave me hope I needed badly. Maybe he even never wanted it. But this is how a genius is described. I still have a dim idea of what this "philosophy" is. I only feel it. The real good literature is able to change world. I have the strong hope, Discworld will change me and my family.
I don't want to draw dead persons any more. I don't want to feel like this any more, as I felt back then. As I still sometimes feel. Now, something will help me. I won't be alone.

I've got addicted to Discworld! The stories are great, witty, sarcastic and with tones of well-build characters! I feel like drawing something from it (just finished "Mort", but my favourite is Sam Vimes, so not sure which one to start), but there are still some art from "Still Life" and "Hetalia" waiting to be coloured :?. And I'm having practice in a primary school, which is taking lots of my young energy. Time, time, precious time :(
